Personal Biography: An AV-rated trial attorney, Tim has had a tremendous amount of success representing a diverse group of clients, from a Fortune 500 company to the operator of a small convenience store. He has also successfully defended many insured and self-insured clients up through trial in a variety of claims based upon liability theories including personal injury, property damage, breach of contract, unfair business practices, toxic torts, product defect, employment discrimination, elder abuse, major trucking accidents, insurance coverage, and franchise law violations.
Tim received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1979 from San Jose State University, where he also participated in intercollegiate sports and spent a semester as an intern in the California State Senate. After working several years in the Silicon Valley area as an outside sales representative for a number of manufacturers, Tim pursued his law degree at the University of Santa Clara School of Law. During law school, Tim spent a semester abroad at Oxford University, where he pursued studies in the area of comparative law. Throughout his schooling and now in his legal practice, he has carried with him the philosophy that while a certain amount of skill and success is natural, most only comes through hard work and dedication.
Professional Activities: Tim is a member of the Business Law, Construction Law and Insurance Sections of the American Bar Association, the Business Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association, the American Inn of Court, Louis B. Welsh Chapter, and the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association. Tim is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California, including the Southern, Central, Eastern and Northern Districts of the U.S. District Court. He also has appeared as a guest lecturer on the area of loss control management and on various trial practice issues.
On A Personal Note: Tim and his wife, Andrea, enjoy entertaining and spending time with family. He enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and assorted beach activities. He also is an active member in various local church and charitable organizations. Being able to mentor to young attorneys is the role he finds most rewarding in the practice of law.
