Personal Biography: Born in Southern California, Robert has always been interested in politics. In 1991, he became a White House Intern, assisting the President’s Council on Competitiveness and the Vice President’s Political Affairs Division. In the mid 1990’s, Robert assisted in coordinating the 1996 Republican National Convention in San Diego, as well as being on the San Diego Host Committee for the Convention that year. Robert obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UCLA in 1992, having been on the Dean’s List, and having received the Guy T. Ellis Scholarship, which was a four-year full tuition academic scholarship. While attending UCLA, Robert was involved in the Center for American Politics and Public Policy, and the Pre-Law Society.
Robert obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from University of San Diego, School of Law in 1997. Again, he received his education on a full tuition academic scholarship, the Dean’s Outstanding Scholar Award. Robert also attended Oxford University’s Magdalen College’s Institute on International and Comparative Law during this time.
Since becoming a member of the State Bar, Robert has worked in San Diego primarily as a civil defense attorney, gaining vast experience in the practice areas noted above. Prior to joining FMG, Robert was a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Diego in the land use litigation department.
Professional Activities: Robert is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, and the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice before all State Courts in California and the United States District Court, Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California. Robert was a member of the Board of Directors of the University of San Diego School of Law from 2000 through 2004. He also held membership in American Inns of Court, the William B. Enright Chapter 138, from 1998 through 2002.
On A Personal Note: Robert enjoys reading, working out, playing with his dog, Ike, remodeling his home, and socializing with his friends in his down time.
