Personal Biography:
A native New Yorker, Jackie attended college in Albany, graduating magna cum laude, and went on to attend law school at the University of Georgia. While in law school, she authored a case note entitled "National Panasonic v. EEC Commission," 11th GA, which was published in the Journal of International and Comparative Law, 1977, 1981. She obtained her first legal experience as an officer in the U.S. Navy JAG Corps. As a JAG Corps officer she prosecuted and defended military personnel in court martial and general civil matters, and defended the U.S. Navy in Federal Tort Claims Acts matters, working in conjunction with the U.S. attorney. After completing her tour of duty with JAG Corps, Jackie joined one of the premier construction defect firms in California, where she represented developers and large trades in multiple complex litigation matters. She also was engaged in the defense of matters involving personal injury, products liability, and insurance coverage / bad faith. Jackie then took her 10+ years of large firm experience and went on to serve as the Construction Defect Coordinator for the California office of a major insurer of construction-related claims. In that capacity, she continued with her successful defense of construction trades and other professionals, in addition to taking on the duties of supervising litigation pending throughout the state, and training and managing the staff attorneys, claims personnel, and support staff.

After returning to private practice for several years, in 2003 Jackie became a partner with our firm, where she continues to focus her long-standing practice of representing a wide array of clients in complex construction defect litigation matters pending in California. In addition to being retained by major insurance carriers to represent the interests of their insureds, she oftentimes is retained directly by general contractors, developers, and major trades to represent their interests. Jackie also serves as panel counsel for several insurance carriers and third party adminstrators, as well as with the Professional Association of Specialty Contractors.

Jackie is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California, in the Southern District of the U.S. District Court, and in the State of Georgia. She also is listed in the International Who's Who of Professional Business Women, and has lectured on areas involving complex litigation.
